Radiata Pine is a fast-growing wood species that is thermally modified at high temperatures. All this is done without chemicals (and with a positive footprint). The sugars disappear, the cells close, and the result is stable, dimensionally stable, and naturally warm brown right through to the core. The Shou Sugi Ban branding adds a velvety black appearance with a balanced grain pattern. Finished with a protective sealer after branding. Quality at an accessible price level.
