Shou Sugi Ban

Shou Sugi Ban

SKU: 5028

Where we in the Benelux often paint the wood to protect it, wood is burnt in Japan since the 18th century as a durable wall covering. Shou Sugi Ban is a centuries-old Japanese method of charring wood, after which it is cooled and cleaned. The burnt look that arises in this way no longer gives off black after finishing with Rubio Monocoat Sealer 707. We also have a matching Shou Sugi Ban screw, to attach the Shou Sugi Ban aesthetically and professionally.
